| Customer Reviews: 6 string banjo August 6, 2010 Brian Nash (BLOOMINGTON, IL, US) When it arrived I took it down to the local music shop and had them do adjustments on it. The sound quality is pretty decent. This is tuned the same as a guitar and plays like it. If you are a guitar player looking to stand out with a different sound and still want the playability of a guitar, than this is the way to go.
Serious junk May 27, 2010 L. Stilwell (Wy) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this SX 6 string banjo in the hopes of actually being able to play it. I don't know anything about banjos, so I sent it to a professional music shop with 40 of years experience to have the bridge set in place and have the banjo tuned; I play both the 6 and 12 string guitars, but wanted the banjo sound. Yesterday I was called by the shop owner and told the banjo cannot be tuned due to internal problems and is essentially worthless. The shop owner recommended I contact the seller and request a replacement. I'm not gone to request a replacement because first of all, I'm pissed, and second of all, I don't want someone else to get stuck with this thing. As I stated above, I don't know anything about banjos, with the exception of this particular 6 string SX banjo ... my recommendation is: don't buy one. I gave a one star rating because the banjo is attractive and will make a nice shiny target at 100 yards!
