| Customer Reviews: I LIKE IT!! September 5, 2009 John B. Holcombe 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Lots of fun for the money. I put a dual pizo pickup inside under the bridge, aquilla nylguts, and geared guitar tuners, and worked on the string height at the nut. It plays in tune up and down the fret board, sounds good plugged in, (not very loud unplugged) and is easy to hold by reaching your picking arm through the V and hanging the top of the V on your forearm. the bag is padded well with a good quality zipper. The best thing about it though is it's absolute lack of snob appeal. Buy one and have fun!!
BEWARE-- this is a TOY! June 3, 2010 Riz Hack (Los Angeles, CA) I am SO dissappointed in this Uke.. Save your money and spend a few more dollars on one of the more reputable Ukulele's. Stay away from this one unless it is to give to someone as a gag gift. Sorry-
I have three Ukulele's. Two are high end (Mele) concert and tenor sizes. And one is a Lanikai LU-21c
I paid around $45 for the Lanikai LU-21 and it is awesome. Stays in tune and has a nice warm tone.
After reading some positive reviews about the Mahalo U-40bk flying V i bought it. It is a very cheap, plastic fealing, cheaply strung piece of junk. The tuners are 1 to 1 and after tuning it immediately goes out again and badly, not subtle like when new strings are breaking in. P.O.S !! : )
