| Customer Reviews: Excellent Value in a Tenor Uke March 11, 2010 Michael J Edelman (Huntington Woods, MI USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had my Lanikai LU-21 Soprano Ukulele for about six months now, and I'm still pretty impressed with the quality of that little instrument, given how little I paid for it. Not long ago I decided to get a tenor uke to compliment it, and I thought it would be nice to get a ukulele with a solid top this time, if it wasn't too expensive.
I looked at the various tenors available from Amazon and other vendors, and this one jumped right out at me. It was the least expensive tenor with a solid top, and being a Lanakai, it comes with Aquia Nylgut strings. I ordered it, and it arrived this morning. (If you haven't tried Nylgut strings yet- let me assure you that they're fantastic. Much beter than plain nylon. I have them not only on my ukes, but on my fretless banjo as well, and I'm ordering a few sets for my classical guitar)
In comparison with the laminate top LU-21, the solid top S-T is significant louder, and has a much richer tone. The longer neck is easier to play, and of course the tenor is the favorite size uke of ukulele virtuosos past and present like Lyle Ritz and Jake Shimabukuro. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Before purchasing I read the other reviews on Amazon. They were dead-on. Great sound for the money. Stays in-tune relatively well. Great value
