My daughter got this when she was 12 months age now she is 16 months and still plays with it. She loves putting her hands thru the handle and holding it. She shakes it and each one of them makes different, gentle music intresting sound. She giggles and laughes. Her four years age brother loves it and plays with it too.
Great way to introduce little one to music, it is safe and interesting, holds young ones attention.

I worked as the music teacher at a preschool for over a year. We had this collection of instruments in our older infant room (approximately 8 months to 14 months). The children all love them and play with them a lot. I love that they produce good sound, but not anything that's so loud that you want them to stop. Best of all, they are very durable. In preschools, toys don't typically last very long. These instruments were about 2 years old and still in perfect condition. I recommend these instruments to anyone as a way to introduce young children to music-making.

I bought these shakers for my son a year ago when he was about 4 months old. They are easy to grip and shake, and were fun as rattles. Now that he's getting older, he's able to use them to keep time to music, and we even pass them around to adults at drum circles because they're easy to use and sound great! They also seem to be holding up very well to lots of use. I recommend them.

My then 11-month old son got this for Christmas. He didn't play with it much at the time, but once he turned 13 months, he played with it a lot. He also likes bringing me one of the instruments and playing one himself. I think this is a wonderful musical toy for a toddler.
